As everyone in Reno Tahoe knows, the weather can be unpredictable. So when Sarah and Tony inquired about an April wedding in Reno where all guests would be driving in from CA, we were a bit timid. The date, April 22nd, was non negotiable. It was the date that Tony's grandparents were married in Reno 70 years earlier. We booked the indoor wedding venues and prepared the couple and guests for a potentially cool and blustery winter wedding. But as the day approached the weather became more beautiful. We were all amazed when winter parted for a couple weeks and provided us with a warm April wedding day. The groom and his attendants were actually hot in their traditional garb, while the rest of us were comfortable.
We found a perfect location for the intimate 20 person wedding ceremony. The historic Huffaker School was built in 1867 and relocated to it's current resting place at Bartley Ranch Park in the 1990s. The beautiful old building is full of character with its' original desks, books, and blackboards. The bride, Sarah, is also a teacher, so we knew this was the right place.
Bartley Ranch has a ton of beautiful photo locations and Jessi LeMay Photography used them all to her advantage creating some amazing shots.
The brunch reception took place at The Wild River Grille on the banks of the Truckee River near downtown Reno.

Sword cake cutting; not as easy as it sounds
Each guest took home a bottle of wine personalized to their tastes.
Tony's grandparents memorial table at the reception including grandfathers military uniform, grandmothers brooch and earrings and their wedding invite from 70s years ago to the day.
Each guest filled out a Reno postcard with well wishes that we dropped in the mail that day so the couple could receive them when the got home.
Special thanks to Sarah and Tony for letting us be part of your special day and Jessi LeMay Photography for the beautiful photos!
