3 Months til your wedding? Are you on track?

Three months before your wedding you are probably wondering if you are really on track and if your wedding day will ever come. Never fear, the wedding process can be a long one, but it is all worth it in the end. Wedding checklists can be overwhelming and long, so below are a couple things you should be doing roughly 3 months before your wedding.

Just a joke of course. He went through with it.

3 Month Wedding Checklist
  1. Make sure the bridesmaids have purchased their attire and double check when it will arrive.
  2. Purchase your wedding bands and have them engraved if you choose
  3. Purchase or rent any ceremony and reception items; aisle runner, favors, centerpiece elements not supplied by your florist, flower girl and ring bearer accessories, etc.
  4. Get groom measured for his tux. Unless he is like many women I know and attempting to lose weight before the big day. Then you can wait a bit.
  5. Purchase groom's accessories; shoes, socks (novelty socks are all the rage, my husband's had squirrels on them), pocket square, cufflinks, etc.
  6. Arrange day of transportation for you and your bridal party. Even if it is just deciding who will be driving, it is good to know.
If those were all no brainers, then you are right on schedule. If not, don't stress, you still have some time. And if you find that you are getting more stressed than you'd like, it is never too late to hire a day of wedding coordinator. Most wedding planners are happy to step in at any part of the planning process to help you tie up loose ends and oversee the big day. Good luck and check back for more wedding checklists and tips.

Historic Wedding Venue walking distance from downtown Reno

I recently had the pleasure of touring the Lake Mansion in Reno, Nevada. The beautiful historic main building was completed in 1877 for one of the wealthiest families in the area. It is now an historic landmark in the area available for weddings and events.

The main building is a great location for wedding ceremonies and intimate receptions. The building is divided into ajoining rooms allowing a great atmosphere for mingling and enjoying the full beauty of the space.

In addition to the main two story building, they have constructed a reception space to hold larger parties. The reception space is located just feel from the main building's spacious kitchen for easy catering access.

The Lake Mansion is a event space unlike any other in the area that offers the beauty of historic Reno and the convenience of a central location and modern amenities. Your guests will be awed by the architectural beauty and your photographer will thank you for giving them a great backdrop. I look forward to planning a wedding at the Lake Mansion soon.

Why DIY Brides still need a Day of Coordinator

As anyone who follows my blog knows, I am not only a wedding planner, but also a recently married DIY bride. I am super crafty and love DIY so naturally my wedding had a lot of hand made touches; painted aisle runner, paper flower bouquet, and crafted table numbers to name a few. Although I loved making things for the wedding, it got a little overwhelming as the day approached and I was very glad to have my business partner oversee the actual wedding day.

Many couples find that they can use a fraction of the money they save from all their DIY projects to hire a Day of Coordinator. In comparison to the price of everything else for a wedding, the price for Day of Coordinators is relatively low, usually less than $1000 for the full day.

A Day of Coordinator allows the couple, their parents, and friends fully enjoy the day. DIY brides have worked so hard over the last months to create everything from table numbers to programs that they should be able to relax and enjoy their big day. Without a Day of Coordinator to bring all of my DIY elements together seamlessly and run my wedding day I think would have lost my mind.

I purchased an inexpensive snow flake aisle runner. On my computer I printed our names and the & in the size I wanted. Then I traced over them with regular craft store paint to create this one of a kind aisle runner for less than $20.

I created the flowers for this bouquet with scrapbook paper and wire. I am currently offering them customized to your specifications on Etsy, but I will be creating a tutorial as well. Keep your eye out on my Facebook and here for it to be posted soon.
